At least four people have been killed in a bus crash in the Philippines. Dozens of other passengers were injured when a bus fell into a ravine in southern Luzon early Sunday. The bus, which had been heading for Manila from Tacloban in Leyte province lost its brakes on a steep hill in Silangang Malicboy village in Quezon province. The bus toppled into a ravine beside the highway on which it was being driven. Police said that four passengers were declared dead on the spot. The 36 other passengers who were injured were sent to a nearby hospital where they are being treated for multiple injuries. There have been many accidents in the Philippines recently due to bad road conditions, poor maintenance and drunk drivers. | BACK to margotbworldnews.com |
